For over 75 years, Rooney's has been involved in the community in and around Harare and Zimbabwe. Rooney's values the wonderful work charities, churches, hospitals, schools and NGO's do for the people of Zimbabwe. Rooney's is actively involved in supporting the following charities:

Zambezi Elephant Fund

Zambezi Elephant Fund is playing a catalytic role in the development of new, innovative projects within rural communities in Hurungwe district, who have traditionally seen little benefit from wildlife, only conflict. ZEF is therefore assisting a range of projects that aim to deliver much needed change to these communities, including awareness and education within schools, the introduction of community rangers to ease human/wildlife conflict, and crucially the creation of employment, through large scale tree planting which also restores lost natural forest habitat.

Zimpact

Zimpact is a non-profit Trust run by volunteers as a community service to raise awareness of drunk driving in Zimbabwe.

KidzCan

Kidzcan envisions a compassionate world where children with cancer are given the chance to lead healthy and fulfilling lives through increasing the survival rate and ensuring the utmost quality of life of children with cancer in a loving and caring environment.

Triathlon Zimbabwe

Triathlon is made up of swimming, biking and running all run as one continuous event over a number of different distances that suit age and athletic ability. Triathlon Zimbabwe manages the sport and all related Multi-sport disciplines related to the core sport the involves variants of swim-bike-run.

Jairos Jiri Association

Founded in 1950 by the late Mr Jairos Jiri MBE MA Hons the Jairos Jiri Association a pioneering organisation is the largest service provider for people with disabilities in Zimbabwe. Over 9 500 children and adults benefit from our diverse programmers each year ad these include medical rehabilitation, inclusive education, vocational skills training, socio-economic empowerment, independent living rights and self-advocacy for people with disabilities among others. In addition the Association runs 16 service centres where 1 200 children and adults receive treatment care and education.

ChildLine
